Jean-Christophe Trentinella is a multi-awarded lecturer and consultant in leadership, emotional intelligence, and wellbeing. Most recently, he was a lecturer at the University of Sunderland in London, where he delivered core modules in Communication, Soft Skills, Leadership, and Management with a focus on empowering future industry leaders in the experience economy.
Previously, Jean-Christophe was Course Leader at the Business School for the Creative Industries, University for the Creative Arts (Epsom), where he spearheaded the new BA/BSc in Events and Promotion Management. He also developed and delivered transformative sessions on Leadership, Soft Skills, and Wellbeing to both students and staff.
A certified Search Inside Yourself teacher—a neuroscience-based program for Leadership, Emotional Intelligence, and Wellbeing born at Google—and a Mental Health First Aider, Jean-Christophe helps organisations create thriving, human-centred work cultures. He supports both established and emerging leaders to navigate complexity with greater clarity, resilience, and purpose.
Prior to academia, Jean-Christophe spent over 15 years working internationally in the communications, events, and cultural sectors. He notably served the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs for five years, managing complex cultural diplomacy projects and international film festivals across Australia and Ireland.
Passionate about creative expression, he taught creative writing workshops for a decade in Australia, France, Namibia, the UK, the USA, and Vanuatu, collaborating with schools, literary festivals, cultural centres, and libraries. His students have gone on to be published and exhibited internationally. He also collaborated for five years with Poem Express, an international visual poetry festival for young people.
Jean-Christophe is also a trained Butoh dancer, having studied with iconic teachers such as Yoshito Ohno, Ko Murobushi, and Atsushi Takenouchi. His performance work spans Australia, Canada, Europe, the USA, and Namibia, combining movement, spoken word, and ritual to explore themes of embodiment and presence.
