"What impacted me the most from Jean Christophe is the way he always finds an example or some sort of relation between one concept and another and his wisdom, his massive general culture knowledge and how he applies both to give a detailed lecture. As well, I always appreciated the fact that he tries to do dynamic lectures in order to make it smoother for the students to internalise the knowledge and how much open-minded he is. In addition, he's very close with the students and always checks on their wellbeing. I would say that he has really good skills to relate teaching and psychology both at the same time with a really worth-it teaching method."
"I have enjoyed the fact that he allowed us to have full creative responsibility: it was fun coming up with the event and understanding it. The lectures were interesting and always taught me something new. They have been very memorable. JC is a fantastic tutor, especially understanding and patient, which helped me settle in hugely."
"Mr Trentinella always pushes his students to discover themselves throughout the units; for example, I never knew I was so good with words, essays, philosophical meanings and visualisations of projects. The whole process of teaching is never dull or schematic. Every new lecture brings new insights and perspectives, which the teacher always tries to push further. Once the student evolves or develops his new views and interests, Mr Trentinella encourages them to express that in projects and assignments and makes sure we stay true to who we are and feel comfortable by doing so. What I also think is very important- Mr Trentinella is the calmest person I have ever met, which always makes my classmates feel free to express their opinion. He is always enthusiastic about the lectures, and what he does, it becomes a pleasure to just participate in lessons.
All lectures he led were engaging and interactive. He made sure every single one of us understood the content and teaching materials he provided. I understood the philosophy and purpose for creating events thanks to all the lessons Mr Trentinella gave us. The assignment of this unit was to theoretically create a meaningful experience. It wasn't just blunt theory but a lot of practical and impactful insights he gave us throughout the year, especially during the pandemic, which in my opinion, was impressive. And again, the teacher encouraged us to our own ideas and concepts.
What impacted me the most was definitely presenting my project to Mr Trentinella. I really thought back then that my project was kind of ordinary, but when I explained it to the teacher, he went a bit speechless and said, 'Wow guys, that's a brilliant idea'. I don't think I ever felt so confident in what I was doing. But that's what teaching should be about, isn't it? For the student to develop and make them feel proud of that development. The role of the teacher is to make sure the student evolves not only himself but also his personality and perspectives. And the teacher should be supporting this by handing in tools and confidence. Mr Trentinella does this the best way possible, and there is no argument about that."
“Mr Jean-Christophe Trentinella was my lecturer and main course leader. He has always been a committed and educational tutor and is loved by all the students in his course at the University and is often missed even after he has left, he is the best tutor I have ever had in the UK. His classes are always lively and professional, presenting dry theoretical knowledge in an interactive way, so I believe he is very experienced in the pedagogical sense and is perfectly qualified to teach any relevant course. Objectively, his reinterpretation of complex knowledge is also very impressive, which I think is due to his broad knowledge and deep research in areas such as philosophy. So all in all, I have every reason to believe that JC is a very good expert in the field of education and business.”
“I had the pleasure of meeting JC at the University For the Creative Arts, he was my Lecturer in Events Management & Promotions. He is by far the best Professor I have had, he always created such a special learning environment where he thought us to not be afraid to question what we’ve learned.
He was always there to guide us in every project even if that meant staying behind for us or arriving before the lecture. Through his guidance I have developed many skills, such as critical thinking and presentation skills.
From JC I have learned to achieve beyond what I think I can and to always work hard towards any career goals I have in mind. I really loved his teaching style where the students had no wrong answers and we were taught to think outside the box. I highly recommend JC as a Professor he has so many outstanding personal qualities such as his patience, enthusiasm for teaching, but also recommending the best books to read!”
“Mr. Trentinella has quite a talent when it comes to teaching. His lessons were consistently well executed and intriguing. As a student, I am particularly sensitive to the relevance and context of lessons. Mr. Trentinella's classes were especially impressive because the subject-matter was always contextualized and relevant. Too often, I have had professors who knew the material, but could never really organize said material. Mr. Trentinella, however, seemed to organise and present the subject matter effortlessly. Additionally, he always put a great deal of emphasis on interesting current events in relation to the given subject area which definitely gave me a sense of being “in the know”.
Another aspect of Mr. Trentinella's personality that made him a great professor was his kind disposition. His overall correction of classroom errors was constructive and extremely helpful. All in all, Mr. Trentinella is an amazing professor who greatly enjoys his line of work.”
“Mr. Trentinella is easily one of the most intriguing and provoking teachers I have ever had. He presents his material to his students in a clearly and concisely and always manages to catch their attention with his abundance of creativity. Dull is never a word one would use in the same sentence as Mr. Trentinella. A wise, generous and dedicated teacher who strives for ultimate achievement for all his students. Any school would be lucky to have this man as part of their team.”
“The class was especially interesting and always ended in laughter. As a former student, I have to say it was my great pleasure to have known Mr. Trentinella. And I would strongly recommend him for this teaching position, because cares about his students and that's what matters the most.”
“I was a third-year ungraduated student at the University of Sunderland in London that was attending the Tourism and Hospitality Management course when I had the pleasure to meet Jean-Christophe Trentinella, who taught the International Hospitality Management module. His lectures were constantly interesting and I had the feeling that time was flying during his lectures. Jean-Christophe was always making everyone comfortable and permitted everyone to take part in the discussions. Thanks to his teaching method I had the opportunity to improve my critical thinking skills and look above and beyond. He also shared lots of his knowledge and life experiences which will help me to face the work world.”
“I met JC on the first day of my university at UCA, he was my course leader at that time. Then we have gone through units like "Promotional Experience" "Principle of Live Event" "Live Industry".
What is impressive to me, is his attitude, he is the kind of teacher that really focuses on the student but not the slides, students would like to talk to him because he is more friendly than we expected. What I have learnt from him is extremely relevant as you can see from the unit name because my course is Event and Promotion Management, so I am expecting knowledge in Event organizing, promoting, evaluating, etc. which JC has covered all of them and expanded to risk assessment, stakeholder relationship, live gig organizing, etc.
If I have to describe JC's teaching style, I would say he is the kind of tutor that really want the student to understand, in the class, we are free to ask questions when we are missing, and he is more than welcome to answer and elaborate.
He is the kind of teacher that really want to know did student see the handbook, through some tricks like hiding the text in the handbook"if you send the text 'promotional experience' to my email before the class, you will get a chocolate", and I got it in the first day of university!
JC is definitely an expert in teaching, and he would like to listen to students, know about them and find out if they really understood the content. Moreover, he always expands the teaching content to his own experience or the book he read, which is what we love it!”
“I had the opportunity of meeting JC at the University for the Creative Arts, he was my Lecturer in the class Principles of Events.
He is one of the best professors I’ve had, and the environment he creates in his classes just makes you want to learn more and more.
JC is a creative person who applies his knowledge and creativity in every lecture.
He is passionate about what he does and he transmits that passion and excitement to the students, which in my opinion is a really good advantage to receive more engagement from the students, which makes the classes more dynamic.
In terms of projects, JC is the type of professor that cares about the process and how the students are doing. He thought us always to ask questions, and not be afraid of the word “no”.
With his help, I developed skills that I use daily, like thinking out of the box and emotional thinking.
I recommend JC as a Professor for all his outstanding qualities. No doubt he will do an excellent job, always teaching with his heart and enthusiasm for teaching!”
